Previously scheduled in-person programming postponed
On April 30, The Sabin Center will host an online global event exploring the dynamics of the Sudd Wetland.
Sitting in South Sudan in the basin of the White Nile, a healthy Sudd is essential to those who call it home as well as to our planetary wellbeing.

On Thursday, we’ll host a series of online plenaries and panel discussions exploring the current status of infrastructure, wildlife, protected areas, land cover and use, community resilience, and the impacts of climate change on Africa’s largest wetland as we work to advance our collective understanding of this critical region and build partnerships toward a more sustainable future for the region and its people. Thursday’s programming will be held via Zoom, and will include speakers based in Juba, South Sudan.
All programming is free and open to the public, though registration is required.
Wednesday evening’s previously scheduled programming has been canceled.
The in-person event planned for Wednesday evening, featuring Prof. John Knox and Sabin Center Fellow Deng Majok Chol has been canceled, with an eye toward new programming in the fall.
